Remember Me

I listened to you, politicians,
Safe as you are in parliament;
Unwilling to sacrifice your life,
But willing to watch, as another life is lost
To the plague of war.
I listened to you.
Remember me.

I fought for you, my country.
To whom I owe all I have;
I killed so that our pride may be upheld,
And so we may hold our heads high
Above other nations
I listened to you. I fought for you.
Remember me.

I died for you, my fellow countrymen,
For those I know and those I shall never meet;
I lost my life so that
We may for evermore, live in peace.
Without the fear that each day could be our last.
I listened to you. I fought for you. I died for you.
Remember me.
